Sardis Secondary has had a rugby team off and on throughout the history of the school. The most recent version of the team started in 2008 under the direction of metalwork teacher and coach Darren Purych and made possible by the support of the Chilliwack Crusaders Club and the Middle School coaches.
          In their first year, the senior team won the AAA tier 2 championship and moved up to AAA tier 1 in 2009. Both Junior and Senior teams have steadily improved since then. At the Junior level, we have had two years in a row of strong results, with a 7th place finish in the Fraser Valley in the 2011 season (out of 38 teams).
